Green Schools

Thanks to the Green Schools Committee for all their hard work this year who worked hard all year in achieving our 6th  green flag, Global Citizenship Waste and Litter.  They looked after litter and waste in the school and took part in many projects.  They worked with Monivea Tidy Towns Committee on several planting projects.  Thank you to Eileen and Norman for raising our green flag on Wednesday 21st June and celebrating our success with all the children.

Many children are taking part in the tidy towns window box competition and have already received their boxes from Eileen and Norman. Entries will be judged at the Monivea Fair this year. Best of luck to them all. For more information see Monivea Tidy towns Facebook page.

Fairtrade Fortnight

As part of the Green Flag the 6th class team leaders organised Fairtrade Fortnight in the school. They prepared power point presentations for the school and organised displays of Fairtrade products which children from every class brought in.  As a result every family in our school is more conscious of buying Fairtrade products when they are doing their weekly shopping.
